The Birthday Boo Boo....

Happy birthday Joon! On Sunday April 18th 2010 Joon turned 3 years old. It was definitely an exciting weekend. Joon's uncle's were both in town for the B'day fun. Saturday we visited the local animal shelter to walk the lonely pound puppies and stopped at a special restaurant in our neighborhood for a vege lunch with other foreigners. Joon loves to ham it up with all the people and had a good time. Saturday night we had dinner at a chinese restaurant with the family. I made a carrot cake for the special occasion with cream cheese frosting and all. first cake experience so it wasn't too pretty.

Sunday we had a blast at Hallim park which is the closest this island gets to a zoo. Lots of flowers, peacocks and Joon's favorite - the lava tubes (or rock tunnels as he calls them). It was good fun next to the ocean on a warm spring day.

Unfortunately, back at the car Joon slipped and hit the car door which put a scary, bloody gash just above his left eye. We immediately went to the emergency room (about 45 minutes away...glad it wasn't too serious!) and bandaged it up. Today we returned to the hospital to put the stitches in. Not fun. Joon had to be lightly sedated to get through the experience. He woke up in a comical drunken stupor and is on the mend. I will be putting more pictures in the album shortly.
